Elaine Petrone developed her method of stress and pain relief in response to her own experience with chronic pain. Ms. Petrone is the author of the bestselling books The Miracle Ball Method™, The Miracle Ball Method™ for Pregnancy and Portable Miracle Ball Method™, published by Workman Publishing. Her first book, The Miracle Ball Method™ has been translated into several languages and has sold nearly 2 million copies globally.
Ms. Petrone has also written for and been featured in a variety of magazines, including American Spa, Elle, Fitness, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Redbook, Self, Town & Country, Vogue and Woman’s Day.
Ms. Petrone has consulted Fortune 500 companies in stress and pain management, as well as appeared on nationally syndicated television shows for Fox News, Lifetime, NBC and ABC news. She has taught the method for over 30 years. Her method was part of a research program at Mount Vernon Hospital in New York for low back pain and upper body pain. She has given in-services to doctors and physical therapists at Mount Vernon Hospital and taught her program at Stamford Hospital for 16 years under the auspices of the Sarner Health and Fitness Institute, a medically based wellness center.
She continues to work on her craft through teaching classes and writing. Ms. Petrone has taught in the areas of rehab, post-op recovery, prenatal and post-partum, anxiety disorders, and rheumatoid arthritis to name a few of the conditions. Her specialty includes lower backache, neck and shoulder tension, sciatic pain and anxiety, all common conditions most people experience at some point in their life. She has trained doctors and physical therapists to use The Miracle Ball Method™ with their patients—to great success. She continues to train new instructors to empower others to discover the healer within each of us.
